Names are part of our language, but they are also an indication of diversity and an indication of belonging to a group. With about 600.000 different first names there is a strong diversity within the Netherlands, but what does it really tell about the diversity within the society? A name is the first piece of language that is thrown at you and it (normally) sticks with you till you die. It becomes part of your identity and maybe even shapes your identity.
